I spent two decades at the center of America's most contentious political and cultural battles—first as a political analyst at Fox News and a CNN senior political analyst, and over a decade as a columnist for USA Today.
But in August 2023, I left. I walked away from the high-profile career, the identity I'd built over decades—and started asking different questions. What would it look like to live authentically? To unlearn the toxic conditioning that tells us we're only valuable when we're productive? To build a life around what actually matters rather than what culture tells us should matter?
That search led me to Italy, where I now live in Puglia with my husband. We bought land covered in olive trees, and I'm building a life that prioritizes presence, community, and meaning over the hustle and achievement I'd been conditioned to chase. I write the Substack bestseller, Changing the Channel, where I explore how to make big changes in our lives, question cultural norms we've been taught to accept, and unlearn the beliefs keeping us stuck.
I'm currently working on a new book based on my essay, "The Way We Live in the United States is Not Normal."
